Living at the heart of this wonderful community

For the past ten years Alice Cooper has been working in east London, building relationships with families and investing in the lives of individuals. The bulk of her ministry is with Muslim families on the housing estates, who make up 60-65% of the local community.  Alice has a real passion to share her faith that comes through being able to help people practically. Her day-to-day work is varied; from organising and encouraging the congregation to get involved in community work, to spending time with  families, and  running  clubs for children and teenagers. It's a full-on job, involving many evenings and weekends.  

She says “I love what I do, it’s incredibly rewarding because of the relationships I have with the families, they’re just so welcoming and they count you as part of the family when you get to know them.  With Affordable Christian Housing’s help I’ve been able to part-own a property in the area, enabling me to live right at the heart of this wonderful community and share my life and faith with the people here. It has made such a difference being able to stay here long-term.”
